Data Deletion Process
Data Deletion Information for Hike My Trail
Hike My Trail is designed to operate without user accounts or a developer-operated cloud service.
The developer does not store your routes, hikes, camping locations, settings, photographs or API keys on external servers. Most information remains stored only on your device.
Deleting your data
You can delete all locally stored application data at any time by:
Opening Settings within the Hike My Trail app.
Selecting Delete All Local Data.
Confirming the deletion.
This permanently removes locally stored data including:
Planned routes
Recorded hikes
Hiking statistics
Private camping locations
Offline map records
Application settings
User-supplied API keys
Cached application data
Alternatively, uninstalling the app will normally remove its local data, although this behaviour depends on your device and operating system.
Third-party services
When you use optional online features, the app communicates directly with third-party providers such as routing, weather and map services.
These providers may temporarily process information such as your location or route coordinates in order to fulfil your request.
The developer does not receive or store this information and therefore cannot delete it on your behalf.
If you wish to exercise your data rights in relation to these services, please contact the relevant provider directly in accordance with their privacy policy.
